Thank you for making me feel better about my day...?

all I can do is sit here and laugh.. cause anything else and I think I would go nuts... depression is no fun either... so I just have to shake my head and try to see the humor in it...

one of the big pieces of the roof ended up getting picked back up by the wind and I found it tottering on top of the fence (the corner where two sides of the fence meet).. looked as if it was trying to jump fence and got stuck.. all i could think of was .. "well.. at least I don't have to try lifting it that far... the wind did part of it for me.. " .. then in the back of my head as I was trying to flip it over the fence was.. "don't get decapitated.... that would be a crappy way to go out..."

hey.. it needed to be on the other side of the fence anyway.. and I didn't need the wind catching it again and sending it sailing off into the side of the house or into the truck (or heaven forbid my husband's motorcycle)

and while typing this I BROKE A NAIL!!!!

WILL THIS MADNESS NEVER END?????

I know, really wanted to let them out but not going to. We lost a tree

I've been in this house for 8 years now.. we've never seen winds this bad here...

Up North on the East coast during a tropical storm or hurricane.. yeah.. but here???? this is just nuts

Thats neat...i wonder if i could teach my border collie mix to heard...however he ismixed with pitt so i dunno if id trust him with my chickens....
my pit-mix is fine with the chickens... you just need to enforce the fact that the chickens are yours and arent to be messed wit! lol it took a few weeks but she got the picture....
i did lose 1/2 my starting flock in this btw....

lol.. sometimes they come out a bit early.. so long as there are no defects you're good to go

BUT sometimes they hatch early because incubator temp was a bit too high.. those chicks can possibly have few defects or issues here and there: crooked toes.. missing beaks .. open navels.. unabsorbed yolk.. just to name a few

the temp was stable at 99.5ish the whole time... now humidity.....
