I tried that, did not work, the polish that was lighter was impossible to see after 2 days and the dark stuff got pecked at by the others. Just my 2 cents, LOL! I use zip ties, change them once when they are 1 week, then again at 3 weeks, normally by 6 weeks, I can leave it big enough to grow into.
