i still tear up when I think of that beautiful dog and what all he had to live through.. and even though I felt like a monster for having him destroyed.. I knew it was what had to be done

the right decisions are sometime the hardest ones to make. Atleast there are people like you that know that a decision needs to be made on basis of the whole picture and didnt let the personal ffelings cloud judgment. The deed was done because it had to be done, and you should feel good about the fact that you were able to do it!

Dobies are one of my fav breeds! I wish I had at least one instead of the 3 GSDs (please note the GSDs are my "husbands" dogs that I have to deal with, could be part of the reason LOL) I had a Dobie X Rottie and she was the kindest, gentlest dog, unless someone tried to mess with her family. Even though I had kids after she was older, she still let them pull and climb all over her until she passed away at the age of 14. All of the ones I have known have been like that. It is a shame that some people feel they need to turn them and other protection dogs into killers, that they would not be normally.

I hope to have one again some day, but the 3 GSDs are enough for me right now.

The following week we went and had the dog put down.. I felt horrible as we drove to the vet because he was wagging his tail and giving me kisses... but I knew it was the right thing to do even though most of the time he was a happy sweet dog to be around. 

It takes a big hearted person to make such a decision.

I thought a Robin must have flown into the coop yesterday. The blue egg is from one of my EEs that usually lay a normal size egg. That's a nickle laying next to it.


Also got the waterer and feeder made in the chicken tractor.

Your new pens look fantastic nice waterer too!

Thanks. Now I can move it around without having to move feed and water dishes. Hopefully it will help with the lawn mowing. My grass grows so thick back there!
