Are you still in Coahoma? I'm in Big Spring and have Silkies & 1 Frizzle. I love my girls.Greetings all. Not necessarily new to the site, but new to this page. Located in Coahoma, TX (just east of Big Spring). I have 3 roosters and 1 hen (didn't know what they were until they grew). Looking for hens of the Dominique, Wyandotte or Orpington variety.
Thanks
You still in Big Spring? What breeds do you have now? We have RIR, Domineque, Silkies, and a Frizzle. So special.Hi! I'm new to chickens. We live way out in west Texas. Big Spring to be exact. We just got 10 Production Reds and 10 Barred Rocks last week and we are all having lots of fun. In fact my husband has ordered 100 more - we never do anything little!!! Even the coop we are building is huge!!! (12x24)
It's nice to know I have a place to go for info!!![]()
You might think this cruel, but it worked for mine. I dug a small trench allong the fence line. then cut my welded wire fencing into strips about 1 foot in width, the length of the fence. made a fold in the middle and put the fold into the trench and spread out the wire, filled the trench with quikrete and water mixture, allow to dry. When you cut the fence into strips, make sure to leave the pieces of cut wire attached, dont trim them. When the dogs try to dig they hit the wires that protrude and it doest feel good so they eventully stop trying to dig out. I hope I have explained it well enough. I might be able to take a few pics to show what we did. We have seven dogs from a Bull Mastiff to a mini dachshund so we have some diggers too.So my dogs are escape artists and will dig out of the yard no matter what i do. Im thinkin about lating some strips of weld-wire along the ground around the yard. Does anyone else have any ideas, and elec fence isnt an option at the moment.
2 of the dogs that dig out are a great dane and a french mastiff...so my holes are BIG!!!
