Texas

The girls discovered the top of their coop and the fun of trees, today. We let them out in the evenings to run around. Generally, I'm not able to be home at this time during the week. But, this week is fairly light at work, so I bailed at a reasonable time and made it home for the evening fun...Here are the girls checking out the top of their coop and run, and discovering trees...

One thing about us city-people-gone-country, we have so much room to improve. Everyday is a new experience.

Nothing wrong with that! They look similar to what I did when I pulled some old scrap wood out of the scrap wood pile and threw a few screws in it.

Aaaaargh!!!!! I am so mad I could bite a nail in two!!!!!! My blue heeler Bonnie just killed one of my chickens!!! Now I only have 1 of my older production red hens left and they were so sweet! Now I will start on the new coop tomorrow for sure and change my fencing around the house!!!! I love my dog but I could have strangled her I was so mad!

I'm so sorry. Don't be mad at your dog, she was just being a dog. I have seven and I may have to deal with that myself some day, but for now we are putting up a fence so the chickens will have their own space.

What I always tell my wonderful "not-so-handyman" husband when he builds something for me. The chickens will not care one little bit if it is level, or square. The most important thing is that it works.
