Perhaps we could meet in Waco? =) I think that is in the middle lol

Sure. Waco's only an hour and a bit from me. Let me see if I can catch her at the store this weekend. If I do, I'll ask her if she has any hatching eggs she'd be willing to part with....oh, um....do you have an incubator? I didn't think about that....

BTW, she says to avoid Ideal at all costs for the Salmon Favs.

I don't have an incubator ; ^; Tis what I am wanting to get silkies for. I have no idea how to make an incubator, and I am scared to try. For some reason I have a hard time understanding the how too's on making an incubator.

I might be able to pay someone to incubate some for me tho, how many you think she might have so I can get a guesstimate?

Yeah, that is the only way I can do it, unless someone wants to schedule a incubator building class!

Actually, let's see if my incubator works out. If it does, I'll give you the recipe. It's easy peasy - the fancy case is my husband refusing to let me cobble something together - but, the guts of it is really easy to do. We had a hiccup at the beginning of incubation when the cheap thermostat I bought failed to actually get the incubator to temperature. So, it was about a week later that the real temps started happening - they had about a week at 95 instead of ~99.5, so they are running a little 'slow'. But, so far, they seem to be developing....now, if I didn't mess anything else up...the incubator's great, at this point...it's all potential user error that has me concerned. LMAO

Sounds like a plan! I am just afraid to order eggs and not have any hatch, when I don't even have a flock yet! xD If I had a flock and had fertile eggs from them then it wouldn't bother me so much, since it wouldn't be a waste of money getting the eggs. =)
