LOL we are going to have a water tower with piping down into the runs so that the runs will have nipple waterers - a float valve will turn off and on the water supply as necessary.
We will also have a windmill and small solar panels behind the store fronts so I can put some LED lights up to look like there are lights in the windows at night, and one or two faux lanterns outside as well. I'm really trying to find a ⅓ scale covered wagon/stagecoach. I may have to make one...
We have been talking about small goats (maybe Nigerian dwarves) for a while - and, if we get them, one end of the town will have a "stable" where the goats will be housed. I'm just having way too much fun with it. Mike says that it's a combination play house, garden, coop/run...What can I say? I'm a kid ((pun not intended, but I'll roll with it)) at heart.
I'm glad you find the idea fun and interesting. It's a blast for us, too. And, teepees would actually make great coops. Place the roosts around the circumference with the occasional nest box, cover the entries with hardware cloth and a hidden door for human access wouldn't be too difficult. You could have the back section butt up against the runs with a pop door into the run. Pretty nice concept, actually. And, the open tops of teepees makes them great for ventilation and great hidey holes for the smaller solar panels for any electrical you may want to run out at the coops.
