Wow
Her husband doesn't even really like her... He is only with her because of their child. He gripes at her for griping at us... *sighs* Can't wait till I can move.
Wow!! Y'all put up with a lot of bs sounds like. Don't think I could live with somebody like that. But then again I'm the loud one where we live but I'm only loud from 7 am to 7 pm so my neighbors don't complain to often! Some people just don't like to hear a tractor at daylight on the weekend. ;) my family and I have the same hours as the chickens! Up at daylight and asleep at dark :)

We do. None of my friends or family can see how we do it. But we would rather live here than have to move back in with our parents. We are hoping we can get out soon though. It is too bad we can't catch a break like they did and have family that is in real estate.
It sounds nice to be up with the chickens and down with the chickens =) we always have too much to do to do that, that and we get home at about 7 after work xD if not 8.

I can definitely understand that, my wife and I live in an older trailer house but its what we could afford and we are doing our best to save for a new house! We just keep saying someday we will have what we want! :)

Took me a while to catch up. The boy in my avatar is a dark Brahma, about 9 months old. He's just over a year now and weighs 12lbs. He is such a sweetie. Everytime we have company, we'll take them out and have them hold Blackberry. It just blows them away that a bird that huge is so calm. He doesn't even run when I go to pick him up. No struggles, just looks at me like, "hey."

On the friendly chickens subject, my other flock, the Rocks, definitely know me & my dad vs. anyone else. Mr. Feathers, the rooster for that group, never crows when Dad or I am out in the barn doing chores, but if one of the boarders shows up or someone else, we'll hear Mr. Feathers sounding off. He makes a good watch-rooster.

I've got 26 eggs in the incubator. I'm so happy I started gathering a week before Sandstone was taken by that stupid fox, so I have several of her eggs to hatch. She and Shale are/were my best layers. Now my two orpingtons have both gone broody. I think i'm going to give them some plastic or wooden eggs and when the incubator eggs hatch, I'll do a surprise switch and see if they'll be happy to raise the chicks. The timing is perfect, also, because the McMurray chicks are going to arrive at the same time!

(btw - I'm a she.

If I could find a cheapy trailor somewhere I sure would do it. Problem is getting a down payment. I have no credit(due to never owning a credit card) and DH has horrible credit due to his truck payments. =_= I get on him about it all the time. If I could just get like, 30k I could pay off his tuck and have a down payment for someplace to get us going. But alas, we have $4 in the bank.

You know, we live in a fixer-upper. It was what we could afford. Our mobile home in another town was nicer than this house. But I would rather live in my fixer-upper where I can have my animals than a fancy house in the city where I'm told I can't have barking dogs, crowing roosters, or a garden. It's all about perception and making the most of what you have. Contentment is a state of mind.
