I love the names yall have for the coop buildings and things in the chicken coops. Eggcelsior and Broken Yoke SalonThank you!!
It's been raining, here. And, The Girls won't go into their coop because The Rascals "violated" it.Whatever...I'm done worrying about it. Either they go in tonight, or they stay out and eventually become coyote food. Got so angry at them being obnoxious that I just have decided to call it quits with them for the day![]()

However, because it's been raining, I've been working "inside"...I painted the inside of the window sills on the coop and...I had a girly moment and added curtains. Yes, curtains. We had some sunbrella from years ago that never got used, so I put it up. Sunbrella, for those who don't know, is outdoor fabric for patio furniture. So - the Eggcelsior (we decided on a name) now has curtains hanging. We'll see how long they actually last LOL....But, they make good blockage when it's cold out and can easily be opened when it is hot out. Seemed like a decent work around. We'll have to make some full blocks for the downstairs windows and door for winter - but, for the time being they should be good with what we have. We also finished out the back door. We were going to make a pop door for the chickens and decided, "Why?" We'll just open the full sized door and they can go in and out that way. Trying to decide if they have to have a ramp, or if they can just hop up the stairs. Mike's determined they can just use the stairs. I dunno.
Sarge, it's good to see you back on the threadNow I'm going to have to name some of my breeding roos famous western names
I hadn't even considered that.![]()
Mike will get a laugh out of that. You guys make his day when he gets to see the nice things you say about his work. It means more than you know. Me, I say nice things but that's "expected"...I'm "the wife" so it's my job to say nice things. Y'all don't know him, so it means more......**le sigh** Silly man.![]()
Mike's already come up with the name for the Saloon - The Broken Yoke. He's going to do up an egg shell with a yolk pouring out ((well, he says he is - we'll see if it happens)).
Just a heads up anyone near Plantersville we have gotten interment hail, ping pong ball sized and smaller, and there is a strong thunderstorm about to come over me here. I am glad I put all the chickens in the coop right as it started raining. I just had a feeling they needed to go in there for this storm.
Everyone has been busy the past few days. I have a lot of reading to do to see how its been.
Everyone stay safe, dry, and warm through our lovely rain.
IT WORKED! I watered the yard, the garden and the outdoor house plants to try and make it rain, and it worked. It's raining!!![]()
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!
