Texas

Quarantine is an option, if you have the room. The rest of the flock doesn't need to be able to even breathe the same air as the bird that left the premises, since so many respiratory diseases are easily spread. You're talking a minimum 2 weeks quarantine, although a month or more is better, since some things have a longer incubation period.

Don't forget that birds that show must have typhoid/pullorum testing done.
Where do I get that done?

Anyone near Edna tx want to buy ducklings?

Ok guys and gals...down, dirty, short and probably confusing as hell since I had nothing to use to put it all together for you....but, here is the basic concept for a solar powered swamp cooler for use in the coop area. Take it for what it's worth.

My sick self is heading to bed.

Good Morning Kilsharion! I hope you are feeling better.

Tried to read it but those survey pop ups arent mobile friendly :(. They blocked my view but werent on the screen enough for me to close them. Boo! Will have to check it out at work tomorrow

I forgot that thing was even there. I'll remove it shortly. I was playing with the survey feature of my chat programme. Oopsy.

Good Morning Kilsharion!  I hope you are feeling better.  :fl

Lisa :)

Hopin' you feel better tomorrow. :sick

Awwww, thank you all. I feel much better. Still a bit run down; but, that's typical. I had a bad reaction to something I ate yesterday (actually, I had something I think had hops in it). Was violently ill as a result. Sucks getting allergies late in life :hit

BTW, the poll should now be disabled. So sorry about that.

Rain in my forcast and looks like the DFW are is grtting wet too! Hope rain goes to everyone that needs it!

Wouldn't mind getting rain for the next year - about two to four hours a day every night while I sleep would be perfect.

Quick question folks, what does it take to legally sell chickens and chicks (live) in Texas. I found all the info on selling processed chickens, but not live. Are there any rules?

for 2 dozen at a time.. I would go with the Reptipro (I put a lot more than 24 in mine at a time.. but then again I like to stack eggs.. lol)

I love mine.. best small commercial incubator out there that I have ever used

The only thing you will have to consider with it is that there is NO "lockdown" (which I always thought was a dumb idea anyway.. considering it's a new invention and our ancestors never heard of such a thing).. so you open the bator all through hatch and incubation (to allow for fresh air exchange

with the 6000's you can add more air by putting a airline tube (connected to an air pump) through one of the slots for the turners if you want.. I don't bother since I like to open the bator several times a day to check eggs anyway
