I won't be at the show.. but once I have room in the bators I may have to bug you for some of the EO eggs,, any idea how much you'll be asking for them?

I just had a batch hatch out last night (shipped eggs).. so I'm alwys looking for some new blood!
I have been selling EO eggs for $20 for 6+. Yes I have enough hens to offer more than that, but peope ussually ask for increments of half a dozen. :)

i am also interested in some BCM's? not in the super near future but end of summer time for sure? do you have any pics of your adults and eggs?

thank you BNJ and Yinepu for the responses....im almost certain im over thinking the project...but since my last batch was taken i cant help it. my big coup is safe...and they older group thats in there has only been for a week. is that enough to establish a "territory"? granted my chicks are still way undersized to be in with them, but is that an option to put say a wire dog crate in the coup for a week or so with the chicks and their own water/feed to allow for introduction? or will i still need them to grow out more?

my manager's going away party today! aside from working we have been grilling burgers, dogs, and CHICKEN!! cant tell you how many people i added to my fresh eggs list!!

not to mention the shots started at about 9am this morning!

do Marans have feathered legs? seems like i have seen that somewhere!

yes i came home with some cuckoo marans from quality feed last nite....spent the night in the doghouse but all is well.....but these show no signs of leg feathering. just curious.

Whoo Hoo! 6 chicks hatched so far. They started last night and one of the first eggs pipped, was still just a hole this afternoon (dime sized, tho). I was getting worried, since 5 other chicks had gone through their whole process and this one hadn't made much progress. I finally couldn't stand it and cracked the top and grabbed her egg. The membrane had dried over her head and was stuck, so she couldn't move anymore. I got some warm water and carefully peeled the membrane off her head and cracked some more of the shell. Before I could get the egg back into the incubator, she made a huge struggle and exploded out of the egg! Yay. She's still doing well and staggering around like the others now. I'm so relieved. I didn't want my nephew to have to watch a chick die right in front of us. About 20 more eggs to go.....
