Speaking of flies...greater conroe area is super indulated with flies as is...and im already seeing an abundance around the coup. Is there anything yall do about flies? I cant get rid of them but can perhaps maybe reduce....

Hang ziplock bags of water. Deters them. We do it in our barn.

we also use the nasty little bag type fly traps from walmart... they're disposable and smells like something died.. but they work great whenever the neighbor's cows are hanging around.. (they bring flies with them in droves) .. so the fly traps get hung on the fence to help attract the flies away from the livestock and coops

Really?? Vanilla pine trees??? I'm going to has to try that! We use the disposable bags in the barn, and they do work. But omg when you take them down they reek!

In the "mixed batch" of eggs I had bought there was supposed to be a salmon favorelle egg.. it never developed though..no idea if it was just infertile or damaged in shipment

i think the feedstore i go usually go to is supposed to be getting some in from IDEAL soon...might pick up a couple if i can catch them at the right time.
