Glad to hear it was a good show.

Beautiful, isn't it? Makes you glad to be alive.

Here in Lake Jackson, Texas (near the coast). So glad the weather is cool, but wind has calmed down. We have a lot of work to do this weekend on our hen house and run. Hope everyone has a fantastic day!!!!

Wow, ammo is so hard to find!!! My DH goes and gets it at Walmart since they allow 3 boxes and Academy only allows 1. How cool to see the Duck Dynasty people!!!
Quote: It is soooooooooooo pretty, getting ready to hop in the shower then off to Tractor Supply and Home Depot to get stuff for new baby chicks that are coming in next week

. I heard an idea of using peg board to make a brooder, just hold it together with zip ties. When done, just take it apart for easy storage and it is cheap.

Sick chicken help!!! This is my only layer. Amercauna, about 24-26 weeks old. Has been laying about 10 days. An egg every other day. Two days ago she was fine, yesterday seemed a little weak, but was moving around. This morning my husband went out and she is skin and bones, empty crop as well.

She is holding her head to the right, and is wanting to lay down and over on her right side. When laid on her left, she keeps her head chained to the right, and her right leg tucked under her.

We brought her inside. Syringe forced about 6-7ccs of water with electrolytes and probiotics. We use save-a-chick brand. After the water, she was more alert, and had a little more fight, but still very weak. Left food, layer crumbles, and a waterer, and have left her be for now.

Thoughts? Took these after giving her water. She's my favorite, and I really don't want to loose her.

StelleKitten StelleKitten StelleKitten.....Just a few days ago didn't you say something to the effect that you would NOT be getting all your animals at one time?

:( But I am not getting them all at one time. The baby goat won't be ready for a few more months. It's only two weeks old right now. The cow is a 2 month wait. The turkeys, those are waiting until we get the pens fully finished. She hatches year round pretty much. But I know where I am getting them. She is also the one that has the bull. He won't be mine but will come visit her on occasion. I swear I haven't added anything but a dog (dumped on the property we think) to my collection of critters.

Thank you for the well wishes for the day. I envy you being near the coast when weather is good....but, when it gets bad, I'm glad to be so far inland.
