We made a nipple waterer so I told him to tap their beaks on it so they see the water. He said they are all alive, all look alert

I only got 2 pics he had to go take care of our sick son (I'm missing my baby too)
Anyone have any luck with killing spider mites on tomato plants without using insecticide? I have mine out on the side of the house (these have spider mites) and those growing for the chickens out behind the coops.

If you want to go organic, I have heard you can kill them with soapy water. I use Sevin Dust on mine.

Lisa :)

Not tried DE or Seven yet. Wanted to avoid pesticide because of the gecko lizards and frogs. But having killed about 14 scorpions in the last 2 weeks, I went pesticide on those things so may have to on the mites as well. They have not made it to the plants behind the coops yet that I can see. Out back are about 80 plants. I may just leave them and cut them back if it gets bad. On the side I have about 15 plants so it's easy to work with. Used an alcohol/water mix last night, didn't do anything. Maybe I need about a million lady bugs...

On the ACV post and getting more/less cockerels

I have used it awhile, not for that reason... It never made a difference on the ratio I got. I got mostly cockerels last year and mostly pullets this year.

Well I just read that its not safe to use sevin around poultry, but I've also heard of people who do, so anyone want to chime in on that one?
I use DE in the run, in the coop, I dust my birds with it, I sprinkle it into their feed, I dust my dog with it, I sprinkle it all over my grass and plants! Lol, I'm addicted to it, simply because it helps kill the chiggers, deters the grasshoppers, keeps away the fleas, and (although many say it isn't) helps keep intestinal parasites away from my critters. It is all natural non chemical, and I love it!

I got some "nontoxic" stuff in a white spray bottle at Lowes that has stuff like rosemary oil and such in it. Sprayed it on ants in with the chickens - did pretty well. Says it is for mites and other insects. It was on a shelf out in the garden section where they keep stuff like insecticidal soap, etc. Could always try insecticidal soap as well.

I use sevin dust....a lot. On everything. Horses, cows, chickens, plants, porches, coops, you name it. No problems. Not saying its always like that, but I don't haw issues, and I know lots of people that don't either.
