Texas

All my livestock look like drowned rats. The horses are pitiful muddy messes. The chickens are soaked and feed is turned to soup. The barn dog has mud to her elbows. And my Snow White show steer is black

Another storm came through middle of the day, it poured, another 2" that make 6"+ the last 2 days

Im so far behind reading, a whole 14 hrs! Anyway gonna be in Sam Antonio tomorrow and Thu and am on the hunt for a good used cabinet bator. Whats it look like down there? Anyone know of some prospects?
This rain is driving me crazy! No rain for months then it rains for 3 days straight, and probably more tomorrow. Everyone looks like drowned rats and one of my broodys lost all 4 welsumer she was raising for me. I know we need the rain but enough already. Come back next week when we've had a chance to dry out! (Can you tell we dont get much rain here?)

San Antonio areas been slammed pretty good.(see jockeyes post). However. We are always up for rain! Drives the terrorist.....err.....tourist away :)

What kind of animal would get in my vegetable garden and completely eat cantaloupes? Would an Opossum? What kind of a risk are opossums to chickens--what size chicken is at risk?

Opossums will eat chickens, though not as happily as a fing coon. But they aren't as distructive. I would imagine it could be anything. Rabbit, deer, coon, opossum. Set a trap and see whatcha get! It's like Texas style Russian roulette.

Ahhhhh!!!!!! ****** coon!!!!!! Gggrrrrrrrrr!!!! Seriously...1x1 welded wire. And he still pulled 3 week old chicks through!
