I saw that my geldings man area is swollen.

You have to clean their sheaths regularly. Pull it out and soap it up. I know, major yuck factor but it has to be done.

Another thing when cleaning his penis do not ever use soap. Use sheath cleaner or just plain water.

We always used dish washing soap and rinse with a hose, but these are racehorses, so they are bathes and cleaned all the time.

The reason we never use soap is because we do not want to wash away healthy flora. Also we have cutting horse stallions and need to ensure the health of their sperm.

Oh WOW !! I got to spend part of my day with Zootopia. She is awesome and you should all be jealous. I bombarded her with questions and wanted to see everything and she didn't even run me off. She didn't even seem to notice I swiped that pretty blue egg!! I traded some roos for some keets and somehow ended up with more keets than we agreed upon. Thank you so much Dawn for a wonderful chicken trip!!!

I got to spend the morning with a great new Chicken Friend. It is terriffic to be able to just walk around and enjoy the Chooks with someone who appreciates them as much as you do. Not everyone is intersted in the finer points of Fermented Food and Broody hens, or gets excited at the sight of keets popping like popcorn in the bator (11 so far ;•} (So sad our Chicken Friends live so far way, looking forward to our Caponing adventure in the fall. What did your son think of the egg, did you stick it in the bator? (By the way, yes I can count) hope you enjoy the keets. You brought me to beautiful, sweet Marans roos (they enjoyed digging in the hay for the meal worms Tomas brought them) to expand my Bloodlines (since I can hatch a Marans to save my life;-} thank you. Here's to new Friends who are just as crazy as we are!!

I'm going to do a quick check of the list of Auto sexing crosses and attempt to set a bunch so that when they are 4 to 8 wks old (staggered hatches) we can take a crack at it. I'll be practicing on a few here and there in the mean time. Since I havent set the eggs yet we have plenty of time to plan and we should have cooler weather.
Of course anyone who can keep a civil tongue in there mouth is welcome, as always. No promises it will be exciting and it may end up being pot luck since I work full time too.

yes, I came home to set the OEGB eggs in the bator and my son said " mom, stick that pretty egg you got from your bird friend in there". We have 8 tiny eggs and then one big blue in there. Looks funny. I can't wait til our next visit. I could talk birds and life with ya for hours!!! The keets are settled in and acting normal crazy. Next time I see ya I'll have a black copper guy for ya. BTW Zootopia has about the cutest and most personable grandson ever!!!
