Texas

We have thunder! Sure hope there's some rain to follow.

Wouldn't you know that after that wildfire talk a couple days ago, we had one in my community? Little old lady decided to burn a tree stump. The stupid stump had been there for 2 yrs and she finally decided that she was tired of looking at it - to heck with the burn ban. Burned 2 miles and 3 houses before they put it out. Thankfully it was on the other side of a road from our place and they we're able to keep it from jumping.

That's nut's. Sorry to hear about the folks that lost their home to a tree stump.

Have you ever seen a jumping spider up close and personal?

My mom used to hate these spiders. If one was in a room that my mom walked into they would jump on her every time, it was really bizzar, it was like they were attracted to her for some reason. I used to play with them as a child. I thought the irradecent green ones were really cool. They never seem to be scared and watch you like they are curious. Great pic.

Excellent shots! Reminds me of Venezuela. Where did you take these pictures and what kind of camera?
These were taken in the Virgin Islands. The previous pictures were mostly in Texas. I have an old Nikon digital camera with a really big lens. My son took a lot of the pictures.

How scary!!!

Well my dog and rooster worked as a pare to get a snake... Tour that thing into pieces!! I'm pritty sure it was a rat snake. My dog just ate the head and most of the body... Pritty cool watching them work together! Wish I had my phone on me to take a pic before he ate the thing!!

Okay am I the only one that is 100% disgusted by the fact that NO Channel is paying tribute tonight? My son is finally of the age that I wanted him to fully understand what happened and nothing... I am still using my words to let him know why today is important. Pearl Harbor, and I am not discounting that at all, gets more coverage. Almost 3,000 people died on this day, people like you and me, just going to work to do the job that they do. Some were on a plane going home to see loved ones. That could have been any of us.

Sorry guys, today is just a bad day for me.

Twelve years ago my brother-in-law, a Marine was at the Pentagon when it was hit by the plane. His group had moved out of those offices just the week before for renovations. If they had been in there.....they would have most likely been killed. It was a very tense day for our family and especially for my sister and her husband.

You can still pay tribute to the people by telling him the story and if old enough show him the photos from that day. If you are religious, teach him to pray for the lost and to pray even harder for the terrorist.
