I suppose that's what happens when you don't work. The days of the week aren't as important (especially since they keep flying by).

I used to dream of weekends. Now, the week and weekends kinda feel the same, haha!

Good point, but I only had two roosters at the time and there are no other chickens for miles around me. Here is the other rooster I had at the time. He recently took 1st place in the first round Gamefowl photo contest over on the "Show off your Games" thread.

Edited: it looks like you combed his feathers and had the wind machine going to blow his flowing tail feathers!

I don't much of anything about genetics but I don't believe he could be the daddy. Two golds can't make a silver....right? ....or wrong?

What happened is that I had all my hens free ranging with the Red Sexlink and the other rooster penned up (he is a BBRed Hatch and if you know anything about Hatch roosters; well, let's just say they don't get along well with other roosters). I chose out that hen in the picture and put her with the BBRed. I waited about 10 days before incubating eggs. I did not know at the time that it can take up to 3 weeks for a hen to be clean of a rooster and that is why I think that pretty rooster came from the Red Sexlink. I gave that Red Sexlink away about the same time I penned the hen up and I have never produced another rooster like that one. So, I would say it is a good bet that the Red Sexlink is the father.

According to kev from the NN thread you can't tell by looking at a chickens color if he/she is a silver or gold only way to tell is by the offspring they throw... Males can only carry one color gene females can carry both.

So I had to kick a rooster last night! No, he was not hurt and no I did not enjoy it. Normally, I just open the pen and walk off fast, so they will range without trying to follow me. Well I was letting out the Three Musketeers as I always do, went to walk away and the dominate boy, ran around in front of me and pecked my foot HARD. I mean draw blood hard and I was wearing flip flops. I recognized his behavior immediately.

It was very similar to a rooster trying to round up his hens by pecking them on the head to get them in line. So it was not aggression, but it was dominance, so first I did the "lift kick" action, sending him back, then chased him back into the coop. Will see how it goes tonight. I can not have him thinking either myself or my daughter are his girls. That can get dangerous very quick.

I really either need to find them another home, or get some girls for them.

Ok, by a show of hands, Who all, besides me is sick and tired of raking Feathers? I never cease to be amazed at how many feathers a chicken has when they are molting or I am plucking. Right now it looks like I am raising half naked aliens! Sigh ;8-{
