I took two Alieve and put ice on it...unfortunately, it's the same knee I had to have scoped in '06.

Ouch, hope the knee heals quickly and fully! I'm staffing my wife's jewelry booth here at the West TX Fair and Rodeo today. A neighboring booth just told me that Abilene's legendary Harold's BBQ (which closed in town 2 years ago due to age of the owners) is running a snack booth here at the fair run by the next generation of kids. I only bring that up because my feet already hurt from walking around this fair but I'm still going to go stand in line for some BBQ. I'd offer to bring you some BBQ instead of chicken soup but I imagine I'm too far away.

The funniest thing to me about living in south Texas was the people from farther up north getting confused seeing Robins. Down there, they don't mean Spring, they mean it's going to get COLD. Because they migrate through the area on their way South. Some used to stick around my house in Houston almost all winter. Only after they were gone did it mean Spring.

It's always fun to see the birds coming around early spring. Of course, that's when I get bombarded with requests to "save a bird" that should have been left alone. Gah! I wish people would stop picking up baby birds. It's really hard to turn down a person who shows up at your doorstep with a baby, though. At that point, it's too late to put it back.

The parrots are some of my favorite visitors. They'll find a fruit tree and congregate until they decide to move on. Such beautiful birds!
