LOVE THIS! I just love these old photos of everyday life. Don't worry about dust - you haven't seen my house. Fixer-upper, no central AC to help filter air, dogs tracking things in....I may as well live in an old soddy on the prairie.
That is a great old photo! I bet they were mighty proud of those birds, too!! Were they Leghorns? If I remember my history....white egg layers were a fancy bird, back in the day.

Tammy, yes they were Leghorns. That picture was taken in Reagan Wells, Texas, near Uvalde. My family lived on a ranch there in return for working the animals and land. I did not know that they were considered fancy! That picture was taken sometime around 1910, by the age of Chloe.
