LOVE THIS! I just love these old photos of everyday life. Don't worry about dust - you haven't seen my house. Fixer-upper, no central AC to help filter air, dogs tracking things in....I may as well live in an old soddy on the prairie.

That is a great old photo! I bet they were mighty proud of those birds, too!! Were they Leghorns? If I remember my history....white egg layers were a fancy bird, back in the day.

I hear that! We live in an old house, so the dust accumulates quick. But hey, its paid for!

Tammy, yes they were Leghorns. That picture was taken in Reagan Wells, Texas, near Uvalde. My family lived on a ranch there in return for working the animals and land. I did not know that they were considered fancy! That picture was taken sometime around 1910, by the age of Chloe.

You should get all those old photos scanned into the computer if you haven't already, so you can make sure and keep them longer and be able to pass them down "forever" without them falling apart.

Many of them I do, but I literally have a footlocker FULL left! I even have a whole album from when PawPaw was stationed in Alaska during WWII.

So now you've got me thinking of a way to mount a propane tank on a lawnmower and how much it would use. Who knew that would be so simple? Used to be a small engine mechanic so that should be an absolute snap.

I use this baby to mow my yard which is about 2 acres. It used to belong to my grandfather, but it let it sit so long the ethanol gas destroyed the carburetor and it would not run. Runs like a champ now!

For those of you who like old pictures. This is a pic of the best hen I have ever owned. It was taken 1983 when I lived in the Amazon jungle. This hen could hatch rocks and I personally saw her jump up in the air and tackle (and beat the feathers out of) two different falcons that were swooping down on her chicks. She almost never lost a chick even though she raised them free ranging in the jungle.

Here is a close up of the hose connection to the carb. I tapped and threaded the intake manifold.



I use a standard gas gate valve to control the flow from the tank, which has a standard gas grill regulator on it.

That's a great story to go along with your photo. You should consider writing it up and putting in the frame if you have the photo mounted. Very cool!
