Need some good ideas for a new flock! As of now we have a mixed flock of layers and I have my games and longtails. I want to surprise raine06(DW) with some new layers come spring... Had trouble with mortality rate this year! We had hatched almost 100chicks from our own eggs we bred and then I ordered about 50 more from ideal! We only have 4 that made it and those are keepers for sure! But I want something that will be a good dp breed for her. She has said she wants workings but every time I try to.buy some she says no... Who's got some suggestions????
You may want to read my earlier posting about the NiteGuard. I invested in 8 of them today.

So anyone want to hazard a guess as to my mystery bird? I don't know a whole lot about the chicks and what different breeds look like. I'm just glad to get an extra chicken

did you know the breeds you were hatching? and this chick is an extra? and you don't think it's like one of the others that hatched? it's little wings are looking dark so far?

Total shot in the dark here, but I am guessing Red Sex Link or Production Red.

Not sure. He/she was in the box of ordered chicks. I only ordered 16 and there was one extra. He has little bitty darker colored feathers on the tips of his wings.

Its raining here right now. We participated in the Comal Co. Parade in New Braunsfel this morning with the Hill Country Tea Party Patriots, it rained on us a couple of times during the parade :(

Awe! I must have left before that! We justed stayed long enough for the smithson valley band. Hey come see me tomorrow! We are showing steer.

TammyTX, I am sorry about that! Loved your "funny"

Just sent you a pm about your roo!!!
Is anyone interested in Dominiques? I hatched some . they are 2 weeks old . They are from a great lineage of a respected breeder. I am in East Dallas if you want some.

I also have a 4 week old Light brahma roo for rehoming,  Can't have roos here.     :(
