Texas

Too cold to go outside today, let's stay inside the blanket a little longer. Well, maybe not, got to go to the ranch and check out the war with the coons... my partner reported 1 more chicken got killed yesterday. The coons did not go for the trap in the last 3 mos. Finally we put more fences at the back gate, and pull the trap to outside the ranch. Can't wait to see the result.

...and the extra herbs are now in the henhouse. -smells divine!!! The gals are indoors eating some fresh spinach. -don't seem to want to be out in the drizzle.

- not much spinach left in the bantams' tray. -devoured it!

Alright, jockey, you're on! Here's my redneck brooder pen

I'm thinking that during the Zombie Apocalypse that this will serve as a stealthy chicken coop, for sure!

I am making this bread while I am hibernating over the weekend.

Tammy- that bread looks similar to the bread that I just made. I just ran a loaf over to my neighbor. They love it too. :)

Time to clean house and possibly finish up the painting I need to do.

Forecast is not looking very good. My mom's flight is supposed to come in tomorrow afternoon. Hope the weather doesn't get real bad.

Well after only having my hens for six weeks I'm posting on the emergency forum. Not sure what's wrong but the symptoms are weak legs, inability to stand and a very swollen crop or whatever it is under her waddle. Ugh. I just didn't put in the agenda for sat ' care for a sick chicken'.

Ms JB - the next time you make the cinnamon bread, instead substitute out some grated orange rind and cardamom for the cinnamon.
