Awww.Hello, everyone! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I, unfortunately, didn't have a terrific one.
That cold I had? Well, I had to cook an entire Thanksgiving meal while my head felt like it was going to explode. And then Mom said she couldn't find Dodo, our male turkey, so I told her about his hiding spots because I was worried. Turns out that he passed away. I think he got sick and with the cold weather, it was probably too much for him. One of my Sultans died, too.
Honestly, it's like my birds only die when I'm not at my best. I feel so bad right now. Oh, and my head still feels like it wants to explode. My weak immune system isn't helping me get over this cold.
The good need is that, though it is taking a bit too long, I'm getting better. And my quail, Sultans, and Frizzles are all back outside, so I don't have to go back into the garage every night to feed them. It's creepy in there (and I'm pretty sure there is a rat). Now that I can focus more, I'm gonna get back to work on my ornaments, on recipes for a cookie exchange, and other crafty things for the holidays. I also have to build a fireplace our of cardboard and clay. Oh, the things I do for my family!![]()
Sorry to hear the bad news. I always lose some in the winter too. The good thing is we also have more hatched every spring. Just can't wait for March to come. Hang in there !Hello, everyone! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I, unfortunately, didn't have a terrific one.
Ugh...stoopid mobile....still can't quote
She's a hatchery bred/sexed Americauna. She's 22-24 weeks old. Meaning she's really an Easter egger. No crowing, no comb, and no tail at all, because she was cooped with leghorns. The leghorns destroyed everyone's tail feathers. So hoping they crow back. If she was younger I would agree roo, but by this age there should have been some other signs.
