Thanks.  I forgot to mention that he was only yawning in the first picture.

He is so beautiful!!!

I have outdoor crocs and indoor shoes so that I am not bring chicken poop in the house.

I stole my husbands old crocs for the same purpose! I didn't want any of my shoes I wear for work to have chicken ...poop on them either.

Hey everybody! My sleep schedule is off again. I couldn't sleep last night, so I stayed awake watching a presentation on CSPAN. I ended up falling asleep after it was over, but I didn't wake up again until 4:30 PM. It was awful! I felt totally guilty!

However, watching CSPAN did educate me and I'm wondering if anyone can give me a little help with this.

So, in case no one knew, last year I had surgery to remove gallstones and my gallbladder because there was a rather large infection. Previous to the surgery, I'd gone two years with brief moments of severe stomach pain, normally alleviated by throwing up whatever caused the pain. My family just thought it was heartburn or acid reflux (which would make sense because it runs in my family), but I never felt the pain in my chest, only in my stomach.

Nowadays, I'm always cautious of what I eat. I get sick from eating a lot some foods I haven't tried since the surgery. I never know how my stomach will respond to new foods. It's why I get so nervous about eating out at restaurants I don't know. If that wasn't embarrassing enough, I also have to know where the bathroom is just in case my body doesn't accept the food. It's embarrassing, it is restricting, and I haven't felt comfortable going out with my friends for ages because I'm worried that eating will end with me feeling sick.

So, here's where I need help!

I'm going to go on a "cleanse". Watching that presentation by Dr. Robert Lustig really gave me some insight. I've decided to run an experiment on my body by not eating sugar (among other things) for three weeks. What I need help with is coming up with recipes within the foods I'm allowed to eat (and without the foods that are on the "AVOID" list). Here are the lists!

Good Foods:
Make as many of these organic as possible

All Herbs
All Vegetables, Except Potatoes
Avocado
Beans
Beets*
Brown Rice
Carrots*
Clearvite-SF
Coconut Oil
Corn*
Eggs
Fish
Ghee (Clarified Butter)
Goji Berries
Grape Seed Oil
Lemon and Lime
Lentils
Miracle Noodle Brand Pasta
Nuts
Olive Oil
Organic Free-Range Chicken
Organic Free-Range Turkey
Organic Grass-Fed Beef
Organic Grass-Fed Lamb
Quinoa
Sashimi
Seeds
Tomatoes
Unsweetened chocolate
Wild Caught Salmon
Yams*
*Limit to ½ cup per serving

Foods to Avoid:

Agave Nectar - Alcohol - All Fried Foods - All Fruit not on Good Foods list - All Grains not on Good Foods list - Artificial Sweeteners - Breads - Buckwheat - Candy - Cereal - Cheese - Cream Sauces - Dairy - Evaporated Cane Juice (sugar) - Exekiel Bread - Flour - Flour Tortillas - French Bread - Fructose - Fruit Juice - Fruits - High Fructose Corn Syrup - Honey - Hydrogenated Oils - Maple Syrup - Millet - MSG: Monosodium Glutinate - Oatmeal - Potatoes - Raw Cane Sugar - Seitan - Soy - Sucrose - Sugar - Tortillas - Trans Fats - Vinegar - Wheat Bread - Wheat Pasta - White Bread - White Flour - White Rice - Yogurt

This is a list of foods only during the 21 day cleanse. After the cleanse you can slowly add back fruits, whole grains and all natural sweeteners, such as agave nectar and stevia. However, processed sugars and processed grains should still be avoided.

If anyone can help me out here (or if you have any experience with this sort of "cleanse"), I would greatly appreciate it. I am really nervous and would love to say that I'm confident this will be easy, but I know it won't be. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go through withdrawals from all the things I'll be cutting out, but if I can improve my health, it is worth it. It will also help me find out what foods are not good for my sensitive stomach. I think gaining back my freedom is totally worth the work. :)

did you have your gallbladder out? I have sensitivity to tomato based sauces since mine came out...some artificial sweeteners like sorbitol...
your foods to avoid list seems like just a healthy lifestyle!
I was going to say "good luck" but instead I'm changing that to "good health" lol

GOOD MORNING FELLOW TEXANS!!

A beautiful morning out. The stars are shining brightly today. Another glorious day awaits us.

Hung, where are you? I got to ask you a favor. In two days I am going to have surgery and will be out of commission for a while. Will you step up and take my place in waking Texas up?

Oh I have outside shoes!! One time I had them on and forgot to switch back to my good shoes before I went to school (I teach) and so I had my uglies on all day with my nice pants. But mostly I just am running outside for a short distance. But my chickens like to come to the back door and look inside therefore, poop will be there!
