it's 30 degree here in Vietnam too but in Celcius, about 81F. Almost the last day of the year already !
I put mine outside when they are over 5 weeks if it is above 50 at night. or usually around 9 weeks if below when they are almost fully feathered. outside here is a covered hoop house with a tarp top and the wind blocked when its cold. but they can get on the ground. also mine are large fowl rhode island reds.Sorry to interrupt the football talk!![]()
So you know how early it starts getting warm here..well at least Houston area. I'm north now so I guess we'll see....
When's a good general date (or temp) for older chicks to start living in their coop outside, as opposed to a brooder?
I'm trying to figure out my timeline....lol

Good afternoon all. It's 41 out and my chickens do not like to come out of the coop when it is 45 or below. I gave them leaves in the run with a little scratch and a tether ball cabbage. Any ideas? I don't want them cooped up in there all winter.

yes mine get out even in below freezing just after sunrise. they love to scratch and run around. It's funny how different chickens are!! Mine are out of the coop waiting at my back door for morning treats at 6. They don't care if it is frigid or rainy. Up and at 'em is their motto
