Texas

This is Texas... This cold needs to go somewhere else, I had to go out in the blasting icy wind and put a heat bulb in for the girls.

Ice is ice no matter where it is. When roads get icy up north they have wrecks too. They just have better tools to deal with it than we do.

That's so true. When I was flying from Victoria, BC, (near Seattle) after visiting in-laws for Christmas, there was six inches of snow. My husband was in a panic about flights being cancelled. I was aghast--six inches is nothing--just plow it. Only then did I learn they didn't have snow plows because the needed them one every several years. Same with Texas. There won't be the amount of snow/ice handling equipment for the road as their will be in New York state. Ice is the worst to drive on--it is just not safe anywhere--and it is a rare event even up north. Now, Texan's aren't whimps, they just don't have the equipment to salt the roads. No experience in winter conditions complicates it, of course.

Good Morning Cold Texans!!

Here in Rosenberg we have some ice. It is in the high 30's. My DH just made it to work and no traffic or problems!

I am keeping my flock in the coop until the sun comes up (???). My two roosters have large combs and wattles. Hate for them to lose them.

Ya'll drive safe and stay warm!

Lisa :)

19 here but no precipitation. I wish there was,....to be this cold without snow seems pointless and a waste of the temperatures. And my arthritis (yep, blessed with that at 35) hates the cold.

We got snow
