Texas

It was 18* when I woke up this morning. It's in the low 20's now. Brrrrrr!!!! No snow/ice here. It's a sunny day. I doubt we will see the forecasted high of 42* today though.

I baked a devil's food cake this morning and now I have yogurt culturing in the oven. My bread proofing setting is the perfect temp to make it at so I didn't need to buy a yogurt maker. :) I hope it works.

An hour in the trainer and then work. So glad it is Friday today.

Keep warm and stay safe!

Yep, there is ice underneath, just having fun with it

Watching the news right now, crazy all the people trying to get out there, lots of accidents.

Hey you, long time no "talk"! How are things going? I see you changed your pic from the Legbars to the Marans, how are your Legbars doing?
The Legbars are going good. I currently have 35 juveniles on the field that are 2-1/2 to 4 months old. I am hoping to have some that will be ready to show at the Fancy Feathers Poultry Show in Dripping Springs on the 15th of March.

Yes...I changed my Avatar to a pair of Marans. This time of year when they are all laying super dark eggs I just can't help but to favor them. I also had a Black Copper Marans Cockerel win big at the Blue Bonnet Poultry Show three weeks ago so I am giving my Marans some much deserved attention right now.

Wow, it's so cold up there where you all live! I feel silly complaining about our "cold" 34° F weather. We RGVers just aren't adapted to this cold weather, I guess. Haha!

Since it's cold out, I'm gonna be inside preparing for tomorrow's trip to Boerne and painting eggs. It's gonna be a slow day. :D

Took the kids for a hike up the hill

This is a picture of my house from up at the top of the hill. I love the hill country!

Now we are getting ready to cook brunch using my girls eggs. I am so happy to have girls again

We got snow :weee maybe 1/8th inch but hey it is still snow. Our school district is closed down so I get to work from home today :D
We got sizzle here. My hens don't care.

I am hoping they don't get frost bite. There is no way these girls would stay in their coops very long. They live to free range. My husband left the egg basket outdoors yesterday, so we had frozen eggs. Since they were cracked he thawed them out and scrambled them.

Excellent pix Rachael, You remind me of my first house. It was on top of the hill, and in Oakhill (Southwest corner of Austin). We bought it in Oct, and at our very first X-Mas.. it snow. I can't forget the scene of white hill observing from the window of my house.

You have sun?!! Must share with the rest of us. It would make the cold a little more bearable!

When I first saw your picture, I thought you were 'oven canning'. You are an amazing lady. Always baking, cooking, etc. Wish we lived closer. I would learn a lot from you.

Lisa :)
