Did you pick up "one" baby Silkie today? My daughter decided she wants three silkies along with her three Mille Fleurs!
Hehe....I got 2...so that they'd have a buddy. Good thing too cause my prissy pullets aren't sure about the babies. Lol.
We had a brief intro. The "roo", Pan, and my Eloise took to them fine. Eloise even let them snuggle for a minute. But my Barred Rock wanted to chase them, and one of my Easter Eggers started..crying almost. She was letting out these peeps that seemed pretty distressed. So they're separate again, so the babies wouldn'thave to fight for food and water and could relax.
They're so small, I had already forgotten how small chicks are in general..plus they're bantems.
I got a buff(or maybe partridge) and a white, who my daughter keeps calling "little Blue", cause of her beak.
There were a couple left. I think 2 whites and a few Buffs/Partridge left. The lady was super nice. She had some mini horses back there..I wanted to pet them Lol
I'll post pictures in a bit. My phone's been dead, I need a new charger.

ClovisMan, your coop's looking great!

Make a round ring of 1/4 mesh and put the new chicks inside that inside the brooder pen so the other birds see them and interact with them but cannot hurt them or bully them away from food. Basically, make a pen inside the pen.

They are so cute!  I'm glad you said there weren't many left.  I was running errands today and kept thinking what I could do to make an inexpensive coop for them.  Now it doesn't matter. I will have to wait. [[[whew!]]]

Lol. They are cute. But im done with chicks for awhile! I've gotten used to my low(er) maintenance 5 weekers.
But im happy with the variety I have!
