Thats me! "Only 4!" Haha Now I have 8
No but really, im done! At least for this year lol. I got my chick fever out of the way with early. ;)

This is too funny. When I started planning for chickens, I was getting 12 hens. And my husband hasn't built my coop yet, so I decided to order 12 to be delivered April 14. That's all. Then I read that having a roo was good, so 13, but minimum order was 15. When I actually ordered, 18 and they give one free mystery chick. 19. Now my daughter wants six bantams. 25! Ummm hubby, that coop design you planned needs a little modification!!!

This is me..lol
I just want eggs..only need 3-4!, minimum order was 15. Ok..ill just give the rest to a friend! Only 6 made it, well after that journey I feel like we've bonded! I cant choose just 2 to give away! Now my daughter's favorite is a roo..we cant have roos. Ill get her a Silkie and ill take my chances. Cant have just one Silkie, it'll get picked on!..enter TWO Silkie chicks...
Our city limit is 12...im inching closer..lol
We've still got to build our coop, and its been too cold and windy for them to be outside. I live in a teeny house and I've got 4 humans, a cat, a dog, and 8 chicks!
I think im insane..
At least Im enjoying it and the husband doesnt mind.
I caught him checking on the Silkie chicks last night

Ok, so I have 3 extra Roos that I can not seem to sell. I do not process my own birds, because I do not eat bone in chicken. Does anyone want them? 1 cuckoo maran, 1 standard Cochin/EE, and 1 frizzled standard Cochin.

Brought home two hens today. A Rhode island Red (use the term loosely, as it is a hatchery stock, which usually means production red) and another welsummer. Everyone is in for the night and no major blowups. They came from the same flock as my other two I got six weeks ago. Excited for up to 4 eggs a day.

It is fun being a chockablock! 25 coming, no coop yet and Tractor Supply is getting their baby chicks this week! We are all crazy but I wouldn't want to be any other way. My friend who are way too 'citified' to raise chickens probably would agree that I'm a Chickahick!
