Texas

I sent off my money today for my two blue bantam Cochins, a pullet and a cockerel.  I've been waiting for a month to get them but the weather has just been too awful where they are--near Syracuse, NY--to risk shipping them.  I'm hoping they get shipped tomorrow or Wednesday.  I still can't get over that you can mail chickens.

Fingers crossed they have an easy trip and arrive healthy and happy. What fun. How old are they? Please post a pic.

I can't buy plans for the coop I want and I don't have a clue to figure out the cost. I'm good at many things, this is not one of them. :/ I can't find people to help me out with things around here either. I need to move out to the country where people are more helpful....

Ms Jellybean, you could move to the Richmond/Rosenberg area. :)

Lisa :)

They don't sell the plans for that metro coop? That is what you are shooting for, right? Well how big do you want it? Lumber is your biggest cost I would think. But I would think you would need plans if only a simple drawing.

My poor chicks are in that ugly adolescent stage where they still have some chick fuzz and they have some adult feathers. Kinda like when your kids reach that pre-teen stage where their front teeth, ears, and nose are too big for their face.....atleast the chicks wont complain about zits!

So no roof for them as of last Sunday; but it was cloudy and no rain .. no problem. Maybe this weekend Sunday, there will be a roof for them, .. of course this is a piece of cake with your new tool, right ?

Quote: Let's hope. I need to "requisition" some taller ladders from work as well. I've got all the rafters pre-cut so it should go together pretty easy if I can manage to lift them up that high by myself with the mangled arm. They are 3 weeks and 1 day old as of today so I still have 2 or 3 weeks until it becomes urgent.
