Let's hope. I need to "requisition" some taller ladders from work as well. I've got all the rafters pre-cut so it should go together pretty easy if I can manage to lift them up that high by myself with the mangled arm. They are 3 weeks and 1 day old as of today so I still have 2 or 3 weeks until it becomes urgent.

With the TX heat, how long these eggs last .. until they pop ?
Ms Jellybean, you could move to the Richmond/Rosenberg area.

No plans for sale. I do have the brochure to go by so I could draw it out to be any size. I want it about 6x12 feet. It's basically a rectangle with the coop at the one end taking up about 1/3 of it. I'm trying to get free lumber from my neighbour who does remodeling. They don't sell the plans for that metro coop? That is what you are shooting for, right? Well how big do you want it? Lumber is your biggest cost I would think. But I would think you would need plans if only a simple drawing.
I'm in McKinney. I want to go to Tyler sometime to see the rose gardens. What part of north Texas do you live. I am in Tyler Texas myself
At least you're being smart about it+1 on both parts.
I went to a local farm store today and looked at the coop in a box they have for sale. I did not buy it. Uh oh! This is not good. I did get my taxes done and filed today. I am getting a refund. Not as big as I hoped for though..... Still, there is a possibility that I can get a coop built.![]()
That's my favorite out of those, too. Those are lovely! I love the egg with the wintery landscape on the 2nd pic!
It is! That's how I'm doin' it!Yea! I see a coop in your future. Maybe you can score a watermelon box as a brooder and start your flock. No, coop before chicks. Although having chickens with no where to put them is a great motivator.![]()
I'm not super handy..and I don't have a lot (if any) tools, but I'm happy to help however I can!I can't buy plans for the coop I want and I don't have a clue to figure out the cost. I'm good at many things, this is not one of them. :/ I can't find people to help me out with things around here either. I need to move out to the country where people are more helpful....
Unfortunately, this stage seems to last awhile...at least for my Easter Eggers...poor things lol. My Buffs and Barred Rock are so soft and at least pretty uniform.
