Oh! and to clarify, this is just for the coop. They'll have a 12x12 run for 5 large and 2 bantams. That's 18 sq ft a bird

I really like this one better.

That's better. The other tractor you showed has about the same useable size as the little dog house coop I showed some time ago and that fits only three bantams, if that. The little A frame doesn't have enough room for the number of chickens. You would have to modify it a lot to make it predator proof. This one also might need some modifications on the wire. A raccoon is a really, really strong animals and will put a lot of brute force into tearing the wire off. They are very smart, too.

This one also offers a lot of space under the coop. A nice hole under this coop will keep them fairly cool, especially if you shade the whole pen area.

Yeah, that wire would definitely go. And the hole is a good idea..

I almost lost all my new 2-week old Ameraucana chicks tonight.  They were peeping a lot and I didn't go to check, just thinking they were growing up and getting noisier.  When I went in, they had all gathered at one end of the brooder  .  The whole pile of them ended up in the water and were soaked.  I usually have a quail-sized waterer but used a bigger one this afternoon.  The chicks didn't have the sense to go under the brooder so were chilled to the bone.  Two are still chilled, but I blow dryed them and they are huddled under the the heat.  I'll keep checking on them.

Glad you caught it. Good chicky Momma

You will need to put a cage around the nesting box so she's safe from the others & can still get to water & food, or put her in another pen with her eggs if she will accept them being moved, my Games won't take the eggs if you try to move them :rant

My broody games go crazy as soon as they see my hand. I never leave with out a scratch or two.
