BCM= Black Copper Maran
Marans are known for laying dark brown "chocolate" eggs.
They're also used a lot to make "Olive Eggers", which is cross between a Maran and a blue laying bird (usually Easter Egger or Ameruacana)

Yep, a most beautiful chicken that lays dark brown eggs. Some look like chocolate.

I found out that the ones in TN will work. Hatch day is Sunday. Shipping on Monday!!

It is going to be a loooonnngggg next few days until these chicks get here. This is almost as bad as waiting for my boys to arrive when I was pregnant.

Here is his ad. If the shells in the ad are what he is talking about they are more like a 7. Still nice though. Pretty birds too.

Those eggs are a five using the Marans Club's card. Still pretty dark compared to most brown eggs. That is sort of typical of the Maran eggs I see in an egg show.
