Texas

Hi everyone!! I am from South Texas and I have just under 100 chickens. I am Texas born and raised. I love my chickens, and I currently have a dozen eggs in the incubator, including a few duck eggs, and I have Brahma eggs that are settling and will be put in the incubator Monday morning.

Sounds like you fit right in here. :)

Hi I live near Spring and have had chickens for 30 years.

I am starting over fresh this year due to losing almost all my birds last year when I decided to use ACV in their water. I didn't dose much but many died. Then the ones that were left got attacked by a stray dog. It was heartbreaking.

I've ordered eggs and will be setting them soon.

What is Cut-N-Shoot? We used to have a salon named that, they would cut hair and then do photo shots, eventually they stopped doing the pictures. Not even sure if they are still there, but went to them when I was a teen and in my 20's.

Cut-N-Shoot is the name of the town I live in. It is about 6 miles east of Conroe, Tx and about 40 miles north of Houston. There are about 3 or 4 different stories on how it got its name. The 1 I believe goes like this.

There were 2 churches, very close to each other, that had a disagreement about property lines and it just escalated to all out war. This was around the end of the Civil War.

Anyway, Welcome again!!!!!

One of the old cops I used to work with called the area of town where he lived "cut-n-shoot" because it had deteriorated so much. :D

Texas is full of great sounding town names, isn't it???

I am enjoying the view from my bedroom window snuggled in my bed. Chickens scrounging around the backyard in a light rain. Oh, now they're running for shelter. Oh boy we are getting a nice rain. I hope it lasts for awhile

It just started here in west Houston. Not much but enough that I'm having to keep my wipers on while I drive. SOO glad. We needed it.
