Here is a young Oriental I have this year. He is a cross between Ganoi Vietnam and Thailand. Something in his throat prevents the noise from coming out when he crows so.. it's very low and barely can hear. He is perfect for raising in city, isn't he?

Good morning how is everyone this fine morning? I got the small coop for my bantam EE almost done all I like is getting the corrugated pvc to put on the top from Home Depot and it's ready. Will take a few pics when I am done with my $30 coop. I used one of the free wood boxes that I got which is 3ft x 4ft and some repurposed wood I had. The only thing I had to buy was paint , hinges and the corrugated PVC. I have 6 EE going in it with them being bantams I have 2sq ft of coop space for each. I still have to build their run which I am going to give them at least 10sq ft in the run. I hope to let them free range some cause I am putting them in the back yard with a 4 ft fence just hope they don't fly out. I live on a busy road and I am not far off of it. Guess the only way to know is see what happens. Well I got to go check on the turkeys and finish cutting some small trees down where I am going to set the new coop. Later all

My birds usually laugh at me and four foot fencing. ..

Cheap coops are the best though aren't they?

Nearly got run over when I opened the coop this morning.
Looks like a beautiful day to get some more work done.
Going to town for poles and concrete for new pole barn.
And some tomato plants... But not going near any place that has chicks! Nope...nope!

Holy cow Mag must be in the air!!! I had to fight my way in the coop door myself this morning! They were out of water. My first set of chicks have made it to the top of the stave and were exploring the nesting boxes.

I have chicks running out my ears too! I have another set coming next week probably barred Plymouths, rhodies, an Amurcunas, I hope more RI & A's I have a ton of Plymouth Rocks as it is. I think I will be sharing some of thoes with friends.

Well the little failure to thrive didn't survive the morning. Put her down around eleven after I found her mostly dead in the feed bucket with an empty craw. Poor baby had a swollen esophagus from god knows what and wasnt able to eat. Makes sense now.

Lyle has been bugging me and bugging me for ladies. He stalked me all day yesterday begging.

Then he got Larry telling on the teens while I was reading my book.

These two are a hoot. Told Lyle to be patient, his ladies were still to young for him. But in a few weeks the teenagers will be officially introduced to their new boyfriend. Maybe they'll think he's to die for.
