Yes they are very pretty. I love them very much. Spoiled boys, to boot. The ladies don't quite care for them yet. Scoff when he tries to flirt but they sure don't mind the food hand outs!

Guinea Rocks!

Just a quick update for my Tx Peeps.
We built our own cooler bater.

We set 18 of our own eggs. 2 were infertile, 10 hatched. 6 were late quitters.

This EE hen disappeared a while ago, but brought us back a present!

On top of that I have 3 more broody Buff Leghorns that are due to hatch between Monday and Wednesday.

May God help me, but I added 8 more eggs eggs to the Incubator yesterday!

your son reminds me of my youngest! He has a similar michivious grin! We call him JT and he has loved the chicken coop project. I too am in a chick fix! I currently have 23 and have 10 more coming... I need to add on to my coop to give some more foot room and am going to give some to a friend. How did you make your "cooler bater" ? I'm assuming that is like a candling?

We followed Ms Prissy's Chic Chick Incubator Directions. At least I think that's what it was called. To candle we have just been using the flashlight feature on my IPhone.

Love them! I had gotten 3 Golden Cockoo Marens and had a predator get them. I was so upset. Would love to try again though. Where did you get them from?

I have 7 chickens (two Jersey Giant hens, one Silver Laced Wyndotte Hen, one Domonique hen, a bantam Bearded Belgium D'Anvers hen-- who is my favorite chicken in all the world-- an Egyptian mix rooster, and another cross bred (big) rooster). We also have two ducks (a very mean male "Black Runner" and a female White Pekin) and two Geese (they are babies, so I don't know the sex yet). Love to meet other chicken people!!!

Too be honest I haven't tried.
I know the legbars. One of them is going to be really pretty by the way. I can't get a pic to do her justice but she is so pretty! Very dainty for a chick.

And her coloring is so clear and precise..its neat.
I haven't marked the GCMs yet. The smallest GCM may have issues so I'll take her. If anything happens I'm close enough where I could have her meet me for a replacement.
I'll take pictures of the other 3 and you can decide , from there I should be able to tell them apart. I've kept my Buff girls strait so far! lol
