Today, I have been cleaning up years of my uncle's life. About ten years ago, my aunt came to me and said that my uncle was not acting like himself. I noticed it too. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's 2 years ago. When the property got too big for them to handle, they sold it to a couple that are great. Now  my wife and I are the caretakers of the property and house. The reason I am bringing this up is to let y'all know that anything can come out of me this evening. I love my uncle very much, and am having a hard time accepting he no longer is in control of himself. So, as I was cleaning up the property today, I had a lot of time to reflect. I am sorry I am such a downer tonight, but it has been a trying day. Love y'all and God Bless.

Sorry Ken :(. That is a very painful diagnosis (for family & friends). I will be praying for you & your family.

How are the other birds taking to her?? What have you found out??
They are scared of her but she doesnt mess with them and they dont mess with her. I have my Black Australop that is a B#$% and has been in "chicken jail" isolation for two weeks. I put her back in today too. Those two had it out real quick but the new girl put her in her place pretty quick. If the BA doesnt straighten up soon she will be dinner before she lays her first egg.

The BCM is considered a rare bird. The females are only supposed to have the copper on their neck and head(mine does). Considered a flaw if its down the back or on the chest. Can have feathered legs but not necessary(English version dont usually)(mine has them). More common in France and with true breeding. Can have a green sheen but not a fault if not(mine does). They tint the egg a dark brown when its laid. The color can actually rub off. More people friendly than other chickens. She doesnt make a sound when I pick her up. The others act like I am killing them.

Sounds like you got a great bird. I got where I try to handle all my birds regularly. They are at the point now whre I think they are saying, " When is daddy going to pick us up and pet us?" Everytime I walk out and they are right there, they squat when I walk by and look up, expecting attention!!
