Texas

you sound like me lol.. man wish you were here catching cats to spay and neuter. Alot of males spraying over here.

Contact cat rescue groups. See if they will help pay for the spay/neuter if you release them and feed them after its done. That's what I have going over here. But this is a volunteer rescue, made up of cat lovers, I had never heard of it before they showed up down here asking for our help to control the cat population. It was kinda strange, they are on the opposite side of town from us, about an hour away. But I am not saying no. Because of them I have gotten my 7 female cats spayed, 3 tomcats I caught neutered, and found a home for a special needs kitty Mittens. Mittens was thrown out of a moving truck right in front of me, she had broken teeth, no hair on the back of her legs, and was full of fleas. For a year I kept her and did my best for her, got her looking decent. Then she started losing teeth and I didn't know what to do. She lived outside due to her fear of my dogs. I contacted the cat rescue and they came and found her a home with 8/9 other cats, no dogs. She gets special soft foods because of her teeth and is spoiled rotten. Anyway, see if you can find a cat rescue group, they really do care and try to help.

My girls are being set free from the coop into their yard to free range for the first day since they've been moved to the coop. Happy ranging ladies!

She gets along great with the ducklings. And she is getting better too. Today she hobbled around a bit more than usual, and a few times the limp wasn't as bad. I hope she continues her improvement so that she can rejoin her sister ducks out in the yard.

I'm sure Daisy & Ivory will be glad to have her back out with the rest of 'em. Yay Ebony!

poorthing.. well a few of them have homes, their owners just dont spay or neuter. There is one tom I am worried about. We used to chase him off too, but now we don't. Saw him one day limping and not using his front leg. Never has gotten better. So we let him e a t and drink and we talk to him. With that leg I am sure it is hard to catch any mice ect.

btw i still say you should find a heritage rhode island red cock bird the most docile you will run with your hens safe for small children and pets .

If I get any more RIR's,it will be heritage, not hatchery. I've handled all my chicks daily since picking them up at the feed stores. My RIR's were the flightiest from day one. They are also the most aggressive to the other chickens, and will peck your hand when you go to mess with them now. My BRs, Orps & SLWs are my nicest. The EE's and Comets are in the middle, but closer to the RIRs.
