Texas

Just looked at the radar. Looks like you will get a squall or 2 but not as bad as it has been.I just looked outside. We have blue skies at the moment, but according to the radar, we will get hit again about 2:00am.

I have done all I can do to prepare for the series of storms expected to hit us. Now it's time to duck and cover. Pardon the pun.

Ok everyone off subject of the storm. This special chick is 3 weeks old and half the size and half as feathered as her brother and sisters. She walks weird and top part of her legs, I guess the knee? W.e it is, both are swollen I noticed. How can I help her?

Thanks Ronnie for the offer. I may take you up on that, but it will probably be some time next year before I'm ready for any more chickens. Unless I have a major predator attack or sickness, I'm at my max right now.

Where/what is the sale at Pittsburg? How often do they have it? Might be interesting to go sometime to "window" shop. :)
in Pittsburg they have a sale every monday night starts at 6 pm i think. they sell junk ,some hatching eggs, rabbits, quail , ducks , chickens, pigs , goats, horses mules some dairy calves....i go sell excess birds i hatch . plan to go next monday night :)

Since our gang didn't get much outside time today we decided to get something special for them when we went to the store. Fixed them chopped kale, parsley and mustard greens plus half a bag of mixed soup veggies which I cooked just a little and a can of corn. They came running and like kids they picked out the corn first. Becka was picking out pieces and feeding them to her chicks. Then they got some fresh italian bread for dessert. Put some very happy chickens to bed tonight.

Sounds similar to perosis, which is what 1 of my goslings seems to have. I think it's a defiency in manganese, or choline. Give the chick a multi vitamin supplement for 3 days to a week. If the disease has progressed too far though, she won't survive. Google perosis and see if your chick looks like that. Hope this helps and you can save her.

Mine got grapes today. And I thought Daisy duck was going to choke! She swallowed sooo many grapes at once that her neck was puffed out from the grapes not being able to slide down her throat, lol. She finally managed to get them down and tried to go for more but I blocked her, didn't want her getting sick or getting a grape stuck!
