Texas

I am down one more baby chick. I had to cull one this morning as his/her yolk sack did not absorb and they were suffering. I wish I had caught it yesterday, but alas this is what happens sometimes. I now have 8 lil chickies. 4 quail, 2 blue silver quail, and two silver quail. I hope all of these darlings make it.

Hello fellow wet peeper keepers...
Hope everyone weathered the storms last night. It rained so hard we had to almost yell to hear each other (our house has a tin roof). Yesterday DH said don't complain about the rain..you'll be praying for it in a couple of months so I tried to be positive about it. Not today! We got more coming as the storms regroup. I got standing water in the hen house and their yard is a swamp. My cats' play room is a muddy mess. My dogs' yard has ponds in it and they won't go out. I got doors that won't close, gates that won't latch and everything is damp. My bed felt clammy even the clothes in my closet feel like I should put them in the dryer before i put them on. I was gonna post some pics but why, all y'all have to do is look at your own place to see what I do.

Went to let the gang out this morning and there is no place to walk without gettng wet feet....UGH!
My garden is a mess, beans and tomato plants beat down and half the mulch is piled on the fence!

To add to it one of my marans (my favorite) got injured sometime last night. Her eye is tore up. Don't know if she hurt herself during the lightening and thunder or she got pecked. Found her huddled in the corner. Almost didnt see her and had to prod her from behind the grow out pen. She is now in the peeper cage until I can get DH to hold her so I can treat her and see how bad it is.

Lets see...anything else I can find to squawk about...guess not...that about covers it!
Ok..I feel a little better having vented that! I'm sorry for the rant..I know you guys are all dealing with the same stuff. Just would like to see some sunshine for a couple of days and some breeze to dry things out.

Take care, stay dry as you can and try to have a good day....and I'll do the same.

This is Daisy duck wearing her warpaint. Lol. She fought so hard that it got everywhere. My hubby has some on his chin from when she pulled her head out of my hands. At least the chickens won't peck her scratch though. Lol
Purple looks good on her.

Hope she heals quickly!
