There is a pond and creek about a block from our place...we get wild ducks fly over and quack at The Ladies, but no one has stopped by for a visit. 

We sure enjoyed their visit. I have never had a wild duck land in my yard, have seen them at lakes and stuff. But it was great, the boys were so excited to see them. I hope that pair nest nearby and we get another visit. I'd love to see them with babies later.

Thank you for responding.  I live in McKinney, TX, but would like to move to the Hill Country.  My daughter lives in Round Rock.  I have looked around a lot, and my first question is always about permission to have chickens, ducks and a pot-bellied pig.  Some people think that I am joking, so I have to let them know that I am definitely not.  It is probably a request to most realtors do not get.  

I would love to know the easiest way to go about finding property that allows barn animals.  I am not from Texas, so it is difficult for me to navigate.  I found one home in Austin that already had backyard chickens, but the price was a little too high.  The realtor said that parts of Austin allow for chickens, but I never heard back from him again.  I think that I just need more information, so I know where to search.  I have wanted to have chickens for years and I hope my dream will come true.

I'm in Round Rock and I know most of the areas around here chickens are legal but the kicker is whether or not there is an HOA. I'm not apart of one but 2 streets up is and chickens are a no go with their HOA. I was checkin out property in Liberty Hill and there are lots I places that allow horses and not chickens. There was a piece of land we fell in love with but on 5 acres you could only have 3 horses, 3 dogs and 3 indoor only cats. It was written in the deed restrictions. As for pigs... I haven't specifically looked but you may need to be zoned for them. That gets a bit tricky and it hard in the city limits. I know Round Roxk doesn't have a limit on the number of pets, dogs/cats, but we do have tighter nuisance laws. You can report dogs barking any time of day not just during certain hours. How about pet peafowl (peacocks, peahens and peachicks)? Maybe you can do a story on them sometime. My husband says I've set back evolution 50,000 years on the species making pets out of them.

I am looking to move to the Hill Country.  Is there a way to find out where one can have chickens, ducks and a pot-bellied pig?  I seem to find a lot of subdivisions that don't allow them.  A realtor in Austin told me parts of the city allow for barn animals.  I guess that I should call town hall.  Any more suggestions?

Legally, were allowed 12 hens and NO roosters.
And that's probably limited further if you have an HOA. Im in the historic district so no HOA to worry about!
As far as Austin goes..I want to say there are a fair amount of people in Austin suburbs on here..they might be able to help.
But your best bet is finding something on the outskirts or an older part of town.

Yes, but the fingers were too fat. I need medium gloves for my palms and finger length. But small for palm one finger width. I can't find a good fit in gloves because of my funky hands.
