We were told green. She hasn't laid her egg for the day yet. We are anticipating it though! None of our other females are laying yet.Beautiful! What color eggs does she lay?

I have some relatives in proctor! I bought a trio of oegb bbred from a guy name Bo at the flea market on July. What a trip for the birds they ended up from Comache all the way to Houston lolAnyone near Comanche county?
Haha I have little barred rocks though and I'm keeping a trio, but a lady wanted to trade me a pullet and a rooster for another rooster that's about 10 months old..as much as I love roosters I already have a rooster that was given to me who is doing great, plus have a bunch of packing peanuts from Ideal. I was luck enough to get two pullets out of those.
Not many people wash their birds it seems. Unless they are showing them however. I might try and go to the state fair bird shows this year and ask the people for some tips!!! 8DI can't wait!
I have done an Epsom salt soak, and foot scrubs but not full scrubs. I need a hairdryer to dry them.
My silkie girl needs a good sudsing up though. They've been playing in the mud to keep cool.
What part of Houston?
I'm from The Woodlands/Conroe (No chickens there thoughat least in the woodlands)
I read something recently about jello(sugar free) being good for them, but I bet you could do any type of gelatin. Sounds awful, but I bet some really rich bone broth would do the trick..plus we're coming up on winter. It could be a treat!
^This is me! haha
Mine have done that, then they DID eat it off the ground. Now I just feed them in a shallow pan every morning. Only have 3 left out there anyway :/
Maybe look into some autosexing breeds?
This is what makes me want a duck lol
Ah! I'm so sorry!
Lovely!
