Texas

Anyone near Trinity can you look out for my husbands little Chihuahua on your news feeds and road ways? He disappeared yesterday morning... last seen heading out the (open) front gate and into the dark. He has a chip in his left ear from an old wound and the tip of his tail bends at a 90* angle from being born breach. Here's a few recent pictures.
I'm sorry to hear he got out. Hopefully he will come home soon.

Hello to all!! I live in Lubbock and we have 5 girls right now. 1 Barred Rock, 1 Cochin, 1 Blue Ameraucanas and 2 Black Australorps. They were all hatched in October 2014 and all but my Ameraucanas have started laying in the last few weeks! This is my first time having chickens and I have really enjoyed it so far!!!

Howdy Madelennon, I'm Desertbloomie, but you can call me Bloomie.

Recently new to Texas myself. Moved to East Texas from Northern Nevada in Sept 2014.
Re-homed all my chickens, ducks, pheasant, sheep & horses to move to Texas, and have just begun re-building the homestead.

Brought home 6 Bantam chicks yesterday!

Going to be pickin' the Texan's brains to learn the locals tips on raisin' chickens here.

Bloomie,

What part of Nevada? I was a Trauma RN in Reno till 9/2012 when we decided to move back home to TX. I am from Texas but I miss the mountains terribly!!! I hope you are enjoying Texas so far and good luck on rebuilding your homestead!!!

I got all the girls as day olds no hatching our own yet! its something that I think would be really cool for the kids but as we live in town I didn't want to run the risk of hatching a Roo… Eventually we will get a little bit of land outside of town and I can truly own the crazy chicken lady title that my hubby has so lovingly given me!!! LOL! But for now I am content with the 5 girls we have and am thankful for the eggs they are giving us!
