Hello All!! Don't get to get on here much these days. Super busy. Building coops like crazy for all the good chicken and rabbit folks out there. It is Saturday night and I am ready to dance. But first, I have a question. When the birds are going up to roost, do they do it in the prcking order? Looks like mine do. I watched them for the first time today, and that is what it looked like to me. It doesn't really matter, but it was interesting.

All flocks have a pecking order. The PBR hen I have, I had to spray on some wound care, because she received a peck that caused her re-feathering area to bleed. She is at the bottom of proverbial pecking order very literally.

Gonna be working on my sunburn today. Building frames for pens today since I have DHs help.
Lucky has made it home safe and sound. My wife took some pictures we can share later, hopefully they took well through the thin wire we have to keep the snakes, etc, out. After shortening his spurs and a brief wing clip he went to eating, getting on top of the roost, impressing the lady hens. He let his crow be heard wide and far. He appears to be happy, and already ruling the roost. He is a very pretty rooster.

Thank you again, Kate. My daughter had a wonderful time.

I'm glad! I wish I had remembered to pull the babies out for some sun time before y'all left. I am sure she would have had a blast with tiny fluffy butts!

Your family is beautiful, by the way. I'm glad Lucky has such a caring little girl to obsess over him like I'm sure she will.

He's already being himself, a big crowing flirt. That's awesome. Can't wait to see pictures of his new ladies!

It has always seemed like mine went to roost by pecking order too.
