Texas

3.5 yr is still young. I have hens producing in her 6th year, still hatch-able. Perhaps your may get too fat and her egg production system cannot function any more.

The turkeys are finally starting to put on weight. About 6 wks until first harvesting. They'll be about 26 wks then, so they will still be on the small side. I'm just happy they have finally started to thrive. They're going through about 25 lbs of feed every day to day and a half. So they're really making me work to keep up. The "homemade" mix has really helped and they don't waste as much of it either.

Hey guys! Just checking in.

Its been busy around here the last few weeks. Many new four legged additions ( adopted an 'abandoned' [ owners moved out couldn't take him ] dog that finally came over for food ). New pigguns! Pot bellies! Lots of birds hatched and moved.

DH spent the weekend working on leveling the house. Started with the kitchen, didn't get far. They had two beams to replace.

I spent my off day putting in a new fence line in our gap fence area. It also has a gate... Big improvement! No more untying barbed wire to go through!!! We now have an official back gate!!!

Worked on pens for the bobwhite that are coming up of age in a hurry. Worked on raised quail pens.

Shuffled goats. Bucks are now in full time with the does until November to ensure all does get bred.

Butchered eight hogs, two left, and several more behind them.

Muscovy ducks are hatching like crazy. All of my hens went broody together. It was a broody party!

Cut down TONS of trees. Did some fence line repairs.

Worked on trash piles. Took one load, gave up. Decided to get a dumpster. That'll be less man power and much easier.

There's more but I've forgotten it all by now!! Here's some pictures.
