I only counted my breeders and not my growers then went back through the list. Sometimes I forget how many birds we have.

Although it didn't ask for Bantams or Guineas or quail. Strange.
That's what happens when you have so many ;)

I didn't look through the list that well and don't have any males. That is kinda strange though.

The Livestock Conservancy deals with animals that are found to be getting few in numbers. The census was to get an idea of who is actively breeding the types of birds they have listed, or are considering listing, as being threatened with extinction.

I'd thought I would share this. I got an email that the TLC is doing a poultry census of breeding birds. It's been 10 years since the last one so it would be awesome to get an accurate estimate on breeds. Here is the link http://www.123contactform.com/form-1517654/2015-Poultry-Census
I wouldn't mind filling out their survey; however, they ask for a lot more personal information than I am willing to provide. I am up front about my birds, but I don't need telemarketers and everyone under the sun calling, mailing, etc. My breeders at the moments at Black Copper Marans, Blue and Splash Americauanas (Not EE's though I have some for table eggs), and Chocolate/Mottled Orpingtons. I may make some Olive Eggers later by sending in some of the Blue and Splash Americauana hens to visit the BCM roosters.

The bad thing is that it sounds like it's gonna be too hard and too fast. With how dry it's been, it's more apt to run off than soak in unless we can get gentle rain spread out over several days.

ooo noo, that's not good

We've got cracks as wide as my foot and deeper than my leg.

Do you by chance sell Chocolate/Mottled Orpington chicks or eggs?

You too huh? I'm surprised our donkeys haven't broken a leg on some of the cracks we have. I've tripped and fallen in them myself and it did not feel good.

Yep, same here. We have miniatures and I'm afraid they are going to get swallowed.

Not all the info they ask for is required. I decided to enter/complete without giving them any personal information, so they could have the data. They have the city and zip as accurate, and the chicken counts are accurate, and everything else is either blank or, if required, completed with an initial (not correct initials for my name, of course) or a period. I then explained in the note that I wanted to help them but I wanted all my information to be private.
