We use fans. But I only have an enclosure with a wooden floor. I just spray it out with water and put a fan in there and it's dry within hours.

The weather is terrible! But I guess in August we will be wishing for this rain. It is thundering now in Ledbetter!

Hope you got your leak problems fixed in time to save the rest of your birds.

Gosh, hope you are okay with the rain. They are saying Granbury is flooding on the news down here near Corpus. Everybody I know touts sand, and that is what I am fixing to do. We are putting bricks around edges of runs and then filling with sand. It is supposed to dry quicker, and I am tired of cleaning one day, and then the next a heavy rain comes along again to make the chicken run stinky, and muddy. Wet hay is not good. I have also been told to sprinkle some pdz(the 40 lb bag you can buy for horse stalls..it is cheaper that way) in the coop. Keep safe, and make that neighbor hire someone to clean out your chicken coop. That sounds unsafe for the chickens and for you.

IF only we could store all this water somewhere for later in the year.

Still have not caught any snakes. I guess that's a good thing. The bobcat was seen again. This time at my other brother in law's house. It was chasing a rabbit. It can have all the cotton tails it wants.

LOTS of flooding around here but we are still a float. Rain expected all week

but right now the sun is out and it is HOT
 
Piney woods East TX - Today at 1:30 PM the photovoltaic security light turned on and the rain poured out -- but only 1/2" -- We are also due for rain every day from now to Sat. - Near Colmesneil they say that they got 12" in 24 hours last week.

frightening thing is that I was on that road in front of Lake Tejas about 15 minutes before it wshed out the first time -- or maybe even while it was beginning to wash.


Drought/flood -- level out of raining would be nice huh?
