A couple Texas Isbar
Eggs in the incubator, we will see!!

Thanks for the information, I will contact them on Monday.

I understand about the food chain. I hate to kill the cat, but it is getting way to close! The game camera shows that it is coming by 2-4 times a day to check things out. Hopefully it never goes after anything other than ducks! So far, it has gotten 5 of my ducks, I have a trap set now trying to protect the last remaining 2 ducks. They will remain penned until the cat is caught or disposed of.

Thanks!
Mandy
I called the game warden this morning. Here is the scoop. They will not help, it is up to us to trap, kill/or dispose of the bobcat. They can not relocate it due to illnesses that it may be carrying. So we are back to square one.

We set the trap last night, but nothing was seen on the game camera. We will continue on, but it may be leaving as soon as it discovers that the ducks are penned....again!! I will keep them penned until this animal is caught.

On that note, does anyone know of any toys that I can make for the ducks? It has to be boring to sit in that 10 x 10 enclosure all day long, even if they do have their kiddie pool to float around in.

Oh, by the way thanks for the advice on the TPWL, it was worth a try.

Mandy

Thanks,
Mandy

Excuse me but that sucks!!! So, what does a game warden actually do besides drive around the state parks telling people that they can't do things?

AS you said -- relocating it would become someone else's problem -- and the idea of spreading disease....noooooooooooooooo don't do that.

Game wardens really are the people you could go to if someone is illegally hunting on your property. They are law-enforcement. Don't sell them short. They deserve respect. Oh yeah - and there is a TV show:

Texas Game Warden Mission Statement

Since 1895, our mission has been to have Texas Game Wardens serve the citizens of Texas by providing professional law enforcement, water safety, and search and rescue, while working to conserve and protect the natural resources of Texas.
Lone Star Law Television Series

Texas Game Wardens are now appearing in a new television series, Lone Star Law, on Animal Planet. The show airs on Thursday evenings at 9 pm Central time.
The one-hour show features game wardens who protect more than a quarter-million square miles of deserts, lakes, piney woods, bayous, plains and coast. These men and women serve the citizens of Texas by providing professional law enforcement, water safety and search and rescue, while working to conserve and protect Texas' natural resources.
Every day, game wardens encounter dangerous situations affecting both citizens and animals. At a moment's notice, they must rush to investigate large-scale poaching cases, save victims from flash floods, disrupt illegal smuggling operations along the Gulf of Mexico and rescue injured wildlife.

We had a cougar on a deer lease and the neighboring farm. Our neighbor had it trapped inside his barn and the game warden came out with what was actually a bear trap (big cage on a trailer) and got it. I guess maybe cougars are an endangered species and bobcats aren't. I always wondered what was following me to my deer stand that year. We found one of it's tracks in the soft ground, It was the size of the palm of my hand.

Sorry to hear this but I'm not surprised. We called the county when we thought we had killer bees and they could care less. Fingers still crossed for you.

Drive around at night and catch people hunting at night. NOT me though.
