Was born in TX but moved to CA in jr high.Moved back to TX after high school. Then back to CA. After 30 yrs I had enough of CA and retired to TN. I just got 10 chicks. Four of them are Polish. Two Frizzles and not sure of the other 4 from Tractor Supply. Loving them.

Two out of three good decisions are good odds. Have a sister in Maryville and brother in Strawberry Plains Tn. And cousin in central Tn. Mother was a native Texan but I was not born here but you know the old saying -wasn’t born here but got here as soon as I could. Good luck with your chicks.

Ok, wifey does want 18 Silkies. Apparently I was projecting as I do not want 18 Silkies. She chewed on me over this last post.

I can't wait to post the pictures of the finalized coop, it is still going to be a week or two before it is finished as todays cement is curing. The roofing 4x4's are not set nor are the 2x4's for framing out the roof either. I bet my neighbors are so curious of what I am up to by having so many 4x4x12 and 4x4x10's planted, plus the 8 foot landscaping timbers planted in view of the street, but hey they will see soon enough once the coop is up, and then our follow on project will be her horse stable. I can see it all in my head in it's completed state and this combo deal is going to be so pretty.

LOL! I'm glad my beloved does not come on here. Then he would know everything I'm plotting! Now it is just a surprise.

Picked up the bator and the eggs will be in Harlingen(city near me) on the 4th! Man I will be dropping some mad cash soon to finish my coop, but I have like 25 days plus 2-3 weeks for rearing them indoors. I'm sure all of my lumber will have cured enough by then to get painted up nice.

I as a vet have a very hard time finding an appropriate response. I know your thoughts are very well meant. For me I was just a tool they used and abused. I wish I could form a better response to your post but it did not deserve to go unanswered. Thank you for your kind and empathetic thoughts.

Follow on post, I really wish I could get the medical care I require from the VA that would only cost the american taxpayer 10 dollars a month. Instead I have to go to the ER and cost us all 1700 or more per visit to get that care. It is more insane, or I have to buy drugs off the streets to detox from my scotch to avoid PTSD dreams from my time in service and the seizures from self detoxing. The VA is still a very broken system of medical treatment.

Thank god chicken's help alot with calming me. I am really hoping these silkies will do the trick on helping me turn my life around. I only give myself 5-10 more years without any real medical care.

God what a reminder, initially my homeowners policy paid off the house if I expire prematurely. I changed to Allstate and need to contact my agent and verify that is or isn't in place now.
