Texas

We had some mulberry trees up in MD and the chickens loved them! By fruitless you mean they didn't make any berries? We had some issues with low yield and immature fruit on our plum and pear trees and someone told us it was due to self-pollination. You need a nearby tree for cross-pollination, either your own or a neighbor's.
Yes all the benefits of a fruiting mulberry as in they grow fast just without any fruit. I do have a young fruiting mulberry on this property its low fruit yield is due to drought and the native birds being faster I think. Maybe I need another to improve the yield then too but I still think I will lose out to the birds. 15-20 years is probably a long ask to see if it would be a good expriment on improved fruit production.

Hey Allen, y'all getting the high heat indexes today! The weather folks said it was suppose to be 115°F to 120°F in your area.
Oh yeah indexes in 110-120's today, yesterday set records all over the place as well. I think monday a cool front will sit on us and drop us back into the 90's.

Wife drug me off to some beach cleanup this morning on Boca Chica beach from 8:30-noon, the surf temps were nice. They had families running around in circles while those of us with Jeep's headed on down the beach. Can't tell you how many dirty diapers I found.

What kind of a moron do you need to be to head off to a primitive beach with kids and don't bring a trash bag, or have the common sense to set up camp at one of the 100 trash barrels(between the Jetties and the Rio Grande)?

Yeah, we're suppose to have that cold front come through Monday, suppose to push the temps down to the 80's. Yesterday was 101°F, today it's suppose to teach 102°F.
I used to have an air monitoring station at Isla Blanca. It wasn't too trashed out there but all up and down the Arroyo Colorado, there was alot of trash. Its really sad how much plastic is in the oceans around the world.:(

I'll start this one.

I am in San Marcos, between Austin and San Antonio.

FYI
I have been keeping a spread sheet of Texas BYC members for several years. Right now it has 274 members on it. Of course some are no longer members or might have visited only a few times.

Texas, we are strong !
I just joined BYC. I live outside of Bedias between Huntsville and College Station. I am new to raising chickens and came here to learn.
Will be getting my first chicks in little over a week

Welcome to the Texas thread there is so much to learn raising chicken and they pretty do most of that part of it themselves once you get em past the chick phase. Some people provide near 0 feed inputs with their flocks. Other folks go feed crazy with theirs.
